In November 2024, Epitech Research had the honor of chairing and presenting at the Union World Conference on Lung Health held in Bali, where we emphasized our commitment to advancing tuberculosis (TB) control strategies worldwide.

Our Role at the Conference

Chairing Sessions

Dr. Sonia Menon, representing Epitech Research, chaired two key sessions at the World Conference of Lung Health:

  • TB Active Case-Finding Strategies
  • Global and Local Policies and Politics: Funding and Accountability

These sessions facilitated high-level discussions with global health professionals highlighting the urgency of evidence-based strategies to reduce TB. To this end, effective interventions must be tailored to the specific social and economic context of each community.

Evidence Synthesis

Evidence synthesis is one of Epitech Research’s core strengths. At the conference, we presented findings from our recent umbrella review comparing active versus passive case-finding strategies for TB. This evidence highlights crucial research gaps and provides actionable insights for policymakers and public health practitioners worldwide.

Medical Writing

Medical writing was central to our participation. We showcased well-structured presentations and research findings, effectively communicating complex data to diverse audiences.

Engaging with the Global Health Community

Collaborations and Networking

The conference provided a platform for fostering collaborations with international health professionals, NGOs, and policymakers. These engagements have inspired future projects focused on advancing TB diagnostics, treatment strategies, and funding mechanisms.

Future Initiatives

Epitech Research is leveraging the insights gained from the conference to develop multi-country studies addressing persistent challenges in TB control. These initiatives aim to enhance diagnostic accuracy, treatment adherence, and policy implementation.
